Minutes of the 113th planning meeting of Wellington Town Council held in the United Reformed Church Hall in Fore Street, Wellington on Monday 4th September 2006 at 6pm
PRESENT: Councillor D. Mitton (chairman), who presided, Councillor P. Critchard (vice-chairman), Councillors Mrs V. Byrne, Mrs G. Copley, Mrs V. Stock-Williams, Councillors, A. Govier, C. Hindley, G. James, S. Palmer and E. Warren, and the clerk A. Brown, the assistant to the clerk Mrs J. Thorne, and Taunton DBC planning officer Mr J. Hamer. There were apologies from Councillor A. Horsman. There was 1 member of the public present.
13934 COMMENTS TO TAUNTON DBC ON PLANNING APPLICATIONS
It was agreed to inform Taunton DBC that the town council was in favour of the following plans: (a) Retention of a shed to the rear of 17 Gillards Close, Rockwell Green, Wellington (43/2006/089); (b) Erection of single storey extension to care home at The Wheelhouse, Linden Hill, Wellington (43/2006/100); (c) Erection of dwelling and refurbishment of existing accommodation to form two dwellings at 15a Fore Street, Wellington (43/2006/075) subject to amendments to windows as per planning officer’s recommendations.
13935 UPDATE ON SOMERFIELD SUPERMARKET REDEVELOPMENT
Giving an update on the Somerfield supermarket redevelopment in High Street, Mr Hamer stated that discussions were continuing between the developers, Somerset highway authority, and local residents who have a right of way on the site. He said there had been a meeting that afternoon about the development and it had been positive and he was hopeful a solution would soon be reached. Members asked when the development was likely to start and Mr Hamer replied that Somerfield were keen to proceed with it as soon as possible and were hoping to have the store open by late next year.
